About
Cheyenne Ottem is thrilled to be an associate attorney at Brumback & Ottem! With a “bulldog tough” spirit, Cheyenne is ready to advocate fiercely for her clients.
Cheyenne has spent the past 10 years working at Brumback & Ottem Law Group in various positions, gaining invaluable experience and insights into the legal profession. Since her father, Sidney Ottem, joined the firm as an owner, it has become a second home to her.
A graduate of the University of Nebraska School of Law with a Juris Doctor degree, Cheyenne is passionate about delivering effective legal solutions. She earned her degree in Psychology from Western Washington University before pursuing a legal career. After graduating, she worked in homeless outreach in Bellingham, Washington, serving as an Adult Mental Health and Substance Abuse Counselor. That experience deepened her understanding of social issues and enhanced her ability to empathize with clients from diverse backgrounds.
Cheyenne is committed to helping clients obtain compensation for the physical and mental injuries that result from accidents and workplace incidents. She works tirelessly to ensure insurance companies adequately compensate her clients for wrongs done to them through no fault of their own. Her mother was born and raised in the Yakima Valley, and her family has a long history of being hard-working laborers in the community. Accordingly, she has a deep appreciation for the challenges faced by local residents and the unique agricultural climate of the area, allowing her to connect with clients in a meaningful way.
During law school, Cheyenne took courses such as Trial Advocacy, Mediation, Negotiations, Client Counseling, and Advanced Torts, tailoring her education to meet the needs of the firm and enhance her skills as a legal practitioner. She was honored with the CALI Award in Constitutional Law in 2021, recognizing her exceptional performance in that subject. Additionally, she reached the semifinals in the prestigious Allen Moot Court Competition in 2022, showcasing her strong advocacy skills and commitment to excellence.
Outside of the office, she enjoys reading a wide variety of genres, which fuels her creative thinking and broadens her understanding of different perspectives. She finds peace and inspiration in the ocean, fueled by her passion for whales. An avid Husker fan, Cheyenne looks forward to cheering on her team during football season (GO BIG RED!). She also loves dancing and practicing yoga, which help her maintain balance and wellness. Cheyenne shares her home with her beloved bulldog, Hazel, who is the sister to Mo and Vinny. You might see her around the office, too!
With a lot of grit and a strong sense of justice, Cheyenne is the attorney who will fight passionately on your behalf.
