At Brumback & Ottem, we believe a strong community is built on shared experiences, local traditions, and opportunities that bring people together. From sports to neighborhood events, supporting initiatives that enrich the Yakima Valley is part of how we give back to the place we proudly call home.

Downtown Summer Nights 2025

We were proud to sponsor Downtown Summer Nights 2025, a Yakima Valley summer tradition filled with live music, delicious food, and opportunities for neighbors to come together in the heart of downtown.

2nd Annual Dylan Marez Memorial Golf Tournament

We were honored to support the 2nd Annual Dylan Marez Memorial Golf Tournament, which raised funds for a Perry Tech scholarship in memory of Dylan Marez. This meaningful event not only honors his legacy but also invests in the future of Yakima students.

Support The Rink Foundation to Keep Ice Sports in Yakima, WA

Do you love hockey, figure skating, ice skating, and a chance to connect with your neighbors? If so, help support a worthwhile cause that is sure to strengthen the Yakima Valley today and years down the road.

The team here at Brumback & Ottem would like to highlight the efforts of The Rink Foundation, a local non-profit organization dedicated to preserving Yakima’s legacy of ice sports. A good feature article on The Rink Foundation was published at the Yakima Herald-Republic last month.

One Goal, Two Projects

The Rink Foundation was founded by local parents who are passionate about youth ice sports in the Valley. The foundation’s primary mission is to ensure there is a dedicated ice sports facility that remains in Yakima County.

Led by President Kristina Coppock, The Rink Foundation has two projects to achieve their goals.

Project #1: Buying the Yakima Ice Rink

Partnered with the Yakima Amateur Hockey Association (YAHA), The Rink Foundation seeks to raise $550,000 to purchase the Yakima Ice Rink located at 1700 East Beech Street. The ice rink has been at that location since the 1950s. At the moment, the rink at the two-acre property is not regulation size and only open seasonally.

Project #2: Building a Brand New Ice Sports Facility

The Rink Foundation’s long-term goal is to build a state-of-the-art ice sports facility at a separate location in Yakima. This will allow the existing Yakima Ice Rink to operate while a new regulation-size rink and facility is constructed. Fundraising efforts are already underway, with a final goal of raising $15 million for the ambitious but worthwhile project.
